To coincide with the Paris Motor Show, the arrival of the Mustang in France, and the launch of the dedicated web store, Ford wanted to use the country’s most highly trafficked mall as a dramatic launch pad. But to create the immersive experience with zero assets and no car in Europe available was no easy task.
We planned an entire 360° video, using a specially created 'maquette' of the space. And then shot a 360° time-lapse view of dawn breaking over Paris. And the car itself? We built, textured, lit and animated the Ford Mustang in 3D. To match the epic scale of the visuals we created a bespoke filmic score, finally co-ordinating the content across the multiple screens for an impressive on site launch event.
The media gamble paid off with our creative solution helping draw 126,000 visitors per day, driving 50 Mustangs ordered in 60 minutes and 210 ordered in just one day. Ford liked it so much that they asked us to rework the story for smaller D6 screens, as well as online and POS use.
